Quinta do Poeira is located in Provesende, along a hillside in the Pinhão valley, on the right bank of the river of the same name. Its northern exposure is a fundamental aspect for the style of wines we seek to produce. Temperatures in the region are always very high in the summer, and on a north-facing slope the grapes always ripen more slowly, better preserving the aromas, flavours and acidity. The adventure in the Douro began in 2001 with the purchase of the Quinta and the production of the first Poeira. The possibility of producing high-quality white and red grapes on the same farm once again demonstrates the enormous diversity of the Douro, and how this diversity can be found even on small properties.
