House of the Captain-Major Alvarinho 2021

The Casa do Capitão-Mor Alvarinho 2021 comes from Casa do Capitão-Mor (Quinta da Boavista), Mazedo, Monção. The soil is of granite origin, limestone-alkaline, covered with rolled pebbles. It is located about 900m from the River Minho, at an average altitude of 60 meters, on practically flat ground.

The grapes certified as “Integrated Production” are harvested and transported in small boxes to the winery and are destemmed, with part of them subjected to skin maceration for eight hours at a low temperature, and the rest immediately pressed. After decanting, the must is fermented, with the wine remaining on the fine lees with “batonnage” until it is ready for bottling.

Elegant wine with freshness, unctuous and persistent finish.
