Red Wine 2017

Quinta das Bágeiras Garrafeira Tinto 2017 is made from grapes from very old vines (over 90 years old). They are fermented for 5 to 8 days in an open press without destemming (the berries are not removed from the bunch). Afterwards, they are pumped over with wooden pulp, several times a day, until they reach the correct intensity. The wine then finishes fermenting in old wooden barrels. While it rests, it is filtered and aged in the same barrels for around 18 months. It is bottled without any fining or filtering. All of these processes are done manually. This is a wine that is only produced in years of exceptional quality.

A wine with great longevity, although it can be drunk now, as long as it is accompanied by red meat and decanted at least one hour in advance. Of course, it will improve with another 5 years of storage. It is also expected that it can be stored for at least 10 years, with positive evolution.
