Best known for its palaces and green nature, the region was once a summer place for rich kings and nobles of European royalty. Today it is still known for its beaches with an untamed climate and preserved nature, as well as for the famous wines of Ramisco and Malvasía de Colares, born on the north side of the Serra de Sintra.
