António Madeira, a Frenchman of Portuguese descent, has his family roots in the foothills of Serra da Estrela, in the Dão sub-region.

It has thus been finding, recovering and cultivating a series of old vineyards that stand out for the authenticity of their varieties, for the characteristics and nuances of their granite soils where their roots sink deeply and for their sun exposure. .

The winemaking philosophy respects the grapes, nature and the wine lover, focusing on seeking the expression of the Serra da Estrela terroir. No oenological product is used other than sulphur. Fermentation begins naturally, with indigenous yeasts. The aim is to extract very little. The temperature is controlled with bags of ice and the cold of the mountain nights. The malolactic fermentation takes place until spring in used barrels. Racking is carried out by gravity and in jugs.
